Biomecanical Analysis

Biometric analysis of dancer performing the same duet with a (i) flesh and bone partner and (ii) with an avatar

The dancers' full-body kinematic data was collected using inertial sensors, allowing the positioning of each body segment, rotations, angles and angular velocities of the respective joints and other kinematic parameters to be obtained.

The data collected made it possible to carry out various biomechanical analyses of the movements performed, in order to quantitatively characterize each movement. It was possible to analyze this data in temporal terms, comparing the duet Ester-Miguel when Ester danced with Miguel and when she danced with its avatar, trying to understand what differentiates them in the execution of their performances.
